This is an excellent piece of business writing, K. I’m going to run it past some nearby Dow Chemical retirees, to see if they’d care to let their kids who are still in the Corporateworld trenches know about it.

By the way, it reminds me of a consequence the retirees told me about when a CEO is replaced. One that somehow never comes up in the Harvard Business Review. It’s the wagering between staffers as to which cronies and minions of the old CEO will be “retired.” And which ones of the new CEO will be rewarded for their loyalty (though not necessarily their competence) by taking their places.
