The Batmen of VP-24. I recall the tail insignia; had to look up the squadron. They were one of the Navy's varsity squads at the time: they flew P-3 "Charlie Updates", the top of the line when it came to Soviet sub hunting.
They were also sharp businessmen. When they flew in, the deck spaces of their planes were stacked with cartons of Big Macs and similar American delicacies, which they sold to those of us who were starved for good ol' USofA junk food. Sure, the chow hall served burgers, but they weren't the same. As I recall, the Batmen bought each burger at a Jacksonville McDonalds for 23 cents, and sold it to us for a buck.
