Thanks Shereen. This piece was a little uncomfortable to write. Me and my fellow Presbyterian church ladies like tut-tutting teens for checking out their phones during worship service. Adults for chewing gum. Singers for grab-assing up in the choir loft. The pastor for concluding his sermon three or four times before actually ending it. But we're reluctant to criticize people for how they practice their faith. Lately, however, we've become annoyed with how some people practice politics and dress it up as faith. I dunno. Maybe I should stick to being one of our church's blue-haired worship service enforcers.
