Regarding Trump's felony conviction, I'd have bet a C-note on a hung jury, seeing as it would have taken just one MAGA fanatic to derail the process.

Then again, the Manhattan DA's office tries these cases many times each year. New York is a business hub. There are always a few companies which use ledger entries to pull shenanigans. Such as to mislead insurance companies, property tax assessors, business partners, banks, and shareholders. I have a shirttail cousin who's an auditor in Chicago. He says the same stuff goes on there. And that companies are often found out, whether because a public auditor catches 'em, an investor sues 'em, or a disgruntled employee spills the beans. Then the local district attorney runs with it. And they've done it so often, they usually get a conviction.
