And though Leelanau County is purple, we have our fair share of extreme right-wingers. Our sheriff declared that he wouldn't enforce any restrictions pertaining to the pandemic. People worried that, if someone assaulted a nurse for being told to wear a mask at the hospital, the sheriff wouldn't arrest them.
