Miyabi, you write with the expertise, assurance and clarity of a compensation manager at a Fortune 500 corporation. I can say that because one of my neighbors used to be a compensation analyst for The Dow Chemical Company, and you write like he sounds.

One question. And it’s understandable if you don’t know the answer, since you focused on wages. Given: wages are going up. Are employers in Japan offsetting those increases by lowering other parts of employee compensation packages? Such as reducing health care benefits or pensions. So that, though the wage increases could raise their labor costs, reductions in other kinds of compensation keep their labor costs the same as before the wage increases.
