I was working a United Boeing 737 one day from the radar room at Saginaw Tower. He'd descended to low altitude, on approach to MBS Airport. That put him in conflict with a Cessna 182. No problem: I told United to turn left twenty degrees to avoid the Cessna. The pilot turned right. I told him "Negative United, your other left." He caught himself, got back on course, and everything turned out fine.

That reminded me of something they taught me at the ATC Academy back in '79. Everyone gets turned around some time. Never beat anyone up over it. Including, said my instructor, yourself.

Something about your comments reminded me of that old war story, Mark. See ya around.
