I recall the politics down there when I served at a naval air station in the Georgia 1st Congressional District in 1974. The congressman was a guy named Bo. He seemed to work hard at keeping military bases in his district. He campaigned on expanding Fort Stewart. He tried to keep our base there - Glynco Naval Air Station. When that failed, he got Department of Justice to put a law enforcement training center there.

I wonder if Carter is as devoted to bringing in federal dollars. Or if he prefers pet projects like the Fair Tax Act.
