I figured engineers were guys who wore dark ties and white shirts with mechanical pencil-filled pocket protectors. Visited a suite of offices full of ‘em once, 14th floor of a riverside building at Adams and Wacker, Chicago. Interesting bunch: took me out for Wiener schnitzel and dark beer at a place on Adams called The Berghoff.
