I do indeed wear Empire dresses when I'm not in Muumuus and pearls. They're light and airy. And they don't show panty lines, so I don't have to wear - well, that's enough on that subject.

By the way, I adopted the "spinster" label a decade or so ago after a property transfer. The county required my marital status on the document, to establish whether or not a husband was in the picture who'd therefore have rights to it. I was annoyed at first at their publicly labeling me a spinster. But I've since learned to take an odd pride in it.
