First, Charles, your opener sums up my concerns about my satires. I hate to make you worry. But the problem I spotlighted needs to be taken seriously.

Second, you sound like my old-school conservative parents - and that's good! They believed in conserving (protecting) things that do good. Making changes only for demonstrably sound reasons, instead of just because it sounds nice. Doing it carefully, so as to not throw out aspects of the old ways which worked, nor undermine the new way's chance of success by triggering backlash.

Third, yes, your observations are worthy of an article, since it might benefit more readers than are likely to see them here.
